Abstract

This is a study to explore the impact of living environment in fostering good reading habits. This study involves 98 students in UiTM Sarawak. A questionnaire and semi-structured interviews are used to collect data. From the study, the majority of respondents agreed that they and their family have their own leisure time to read. There is also a positive relationship between reading environment with average hours students spent on reading. These depict parents who provide home with good and encouraging reading environment with sufficient reading materials and positive attitudes towards reading will influence their children's reading habit.
