Abstract
This paper analyzes the current state of theory and practice of Czech teacher undergraduate vocational preparation. Vocational preparation is viewed on t he background of the Czech educational system and from the two perspectives of study requirements and goals, and of student academic performance, including their study styles. The research findings are completed by suggest ions on how to optimize these arrangements.
