Abstract

The profiles and roles of managers has been subject to divergent studies both in indigenous and international literature together with numerous cases about businesses. However, studies concerning the managers of thriving firms in Bursa are not adequate. Our study takes shape in the sense of various parameters such as education, age, gender of the top management and role of the managers of the 120 firms in Bursa, Turkey which are elected by Economist magazine among the 500 Anatolian leading firms in 2012. Our findings show that managers prominently play interpersonal (leader) and decisional (entrepreneur) roles as they also put effort on other roles.
