Abstract

Scholar failure is a complex phenomenon that depends on various factors as social factors, scholar factors or biophysical factors. But, in primary and secondary education system scholar failure has different causes from tertiary education system. In our paper we analyze a specific case of university student failure, the case of the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics from the Bucharest University of Economics. The main causes of student failure in the analyzed situation are: internal (personal) factors and external factors (family situation, social pressure, economic pressure) but also factors as disciplines difficulty (many technical disciplines), teacher's exigency, pedagogical and economic difficulties.
