Abstract
This paper examines the theoretical and practical problems that arise in the process of the Republic of Kazakhstan joining th e World Trade Organization (WTO). A lot of rules and regulations are set in the WTO, which include limiting government support for domestic producers, phytosanitary standards, and veterinary rules. However, to date, neither the Government, nor local producers are ready to compete with foreign producers. In connection with this, some suggestions to resolve these issues were given.
