Abstract
Teaching and learning Turkish as a foreign language have become widespread in Europe. Erasmus Exchange students are given intensive Turkish language courses, and it might be advantageous to find out about their beliefs on learning a foreign language in order to determine what European university students think of learning the Turkish language. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate Erasmus students’ beliefs about language learning. Fifty Erasmus Exchange students from different EU countries studying temporarily at Çukurova University constitute the participants of the study. A modified version of Horwitz's BALLI (Beliefs About Language Learning Inventory) is employed in the study.
