Abstract

The current study investigated the relationship between Iranian English language teachers’ gender and their success as perceived by their learners. For this purpose 250 learners of 48 teachers (19 males, 29 females) in English institutes in Mashhad participated in the study. The findings of the research, obtained through Iranian EFL Teachers’ Success Scale (Pishghadam & Moafian, 2009), which was filled out by the students, indicate no significant difference among male and female EFL teachers regarding their success as perceived by their learners. Factors other than such static variables as gender or age are believed to have a role in determining teacher success.
