Abstract
You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. You can lead a student to an excellent education, but you can’t make him think. There are four tenets to buying in to one's own education: community; dignity; relevance; and motivation to learn. This paper explores the idea of how these four tenets, coupled with the individual's choosing to learn and a teacher's ability to create friendly, —funky,‖ fun, focused, and fast-paced lessons, can create an optimum learning environment.
