Abstract
We study recognition ability of humans and line trace programs in order to construct a reverse Turing test based on one-stroke symbol traces. Our aim is to analyze the difference between humans and computers from the point of view of recognizing distorted and nicked character images. We carry out experiments to show it is tractable for humans to recognize and trace a one- stroke character or symbol, but intractable for computer programs.
