Abstract

Bran area, guarded by Bran Castel, is an oasis of natural beauty, located between the Carpathian Mountains, a cradle of civilization from ancient times. Origins: Education in Transylvania is rooted in its close connection with the religious worship. Its beginning consists of the establishment of the First Romanian School in the XVth century in Schei, Brasov. Ever since the XVIIIth there are references to a first Romanian school in the Bran area, at Moieciu. Continuity is ensured by the involvement in the development of the Transylvanian education of the major scholars of those times, namely: Bishop Andrei Saguna, Ioan Puscariu, thus in the XIX-th century in every village from Bran area there was a school in operation. The teachers, who are priests, church bishops, painters, develop both cultural and craftsmanship directions, at local level.
