Abstract

This descriptive research was to study the effect of using learning activities based on PATH method in sexuality and health subject. The 37 bachelor degree students of Udon Thani Rajabhat University who enrolled for sexuality and health subject were taken as the sample. Data were collected through1) knowledge testing, 2) questionnaires to evaluate students’ attitude toward sexual health, and 3) focus group after the class. The mean, standard deviation, t-test and content analysis were used to analyze the data. The results showed that: 1) the scores of knowledge, attitude and practical test after using learning activities based on PATH method were higher than prior to using the treatment at .01 level of significance. 2) the students’ attitude towards learning activities were: 2.1) according to knowledge, knowledge about sexuality should be realized but uninterested and could not be learned in another subject. They had learned more about adolescents’ relation, pregnancy, HIV infection and prevention, 2.2) according to learning activities, the creative activity was enjoyable while gaining knowledge from the luminous instructional media, and 2.3) according to application, students could apply the knowledge and experience in class for their everyday lives. They could take precautions and live their lives safely, 2.4) It is human nature to have an affair. There are both advantages and disadvantages for having an affair while learning which should be in the appropriate range, and 2.5) the students recommended 2 issues for learning activities: extended time for the class, and increased visual media and field trip.
