Abstract

School readiness is the term used on a large scale in order to define school competence, but there is no unity in defining the concept of school readiness or the best way which helps to acquire this competence. Most approaches refer to the child's ability to learn and to adapt to school requirements efficiently. School readiness involves the command of basic abilities and aptitudes which allow the child to function successfully in the school environment, to adapt both academically and socially. The present study aims at analyzing the structure of social and emotional competences of 6- year children and to identify their role in the school adjustment.
