Abstract

This paper investigates and compares the perceptions of in-service teachers with respect to organizational climate. The sample consisted of 201 Romanian teachers belonging to 15 school organizations. The purpose of the research was to investigate the relationships between teachers’ perceptions on eight dimensions of organizational climate and some demographical and attitudinal variables. Results have shown that teachers have different perceptions on organizational climate depending on their length of service and attitude towards change. Teachers with high conservatism have appreciated more negative the organizational climate than teachers with low conservatism. Implications of the findings were discussed in order to develop strategies of intervention in school organization.
