Abstract

The rapid development of ICT technology in the 21st century is demanding swift action to engage students to participate in the mainstream of development. Rapid technological developments and the integration of ICT in all aspects of life is recognized as a developed country. Thus, it is the responsibility of the institution that trains teachers to apply ICT technologies among its students (prospective teachers) to cultivate creativity towards ICT. An action research was carried out to see the extent of creativity, enthusiasm, and motivation of students in the application of Web 2.0 technology. Respondents of this study were from two groups of students in the first semester of the 2010/2011 session who was offered course “Computers in Education”. The findings indicate that the students’ attitude towards web applications (blogs), creativity in Web 2.0 applications, collaboration, outreach, and future use of the skills to build a blog site showed a positive value in term of ICT literacy. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
