Abstract
There is a difference between 'communication' and 'effective communication'. Most importantly, the latter entails the use of strategies as well as a grasp of essential communication skills and styles. This study takes a closer look at reality and reports undergraduate ability in communicating their stance and positions on certain issues. It will focus on the predominant communication styles exhibited by a cohort of undergraduates during consensual small group decision making setting. The study employs the qualitative research approach. Data is analyzed using the constant comparative data analysis methodology. Several overriding themes are presented to further our understanding of undergraduate communication style within the persuasive genre of consensual small group decision making.
