Abstract
The objective of the study is to compare the causal relationships between environmental values and recycling behaviour of consumers in two urban areas. A survey was carried out on 300 respondents. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used in obtaining measurement models and structural models. The outcomes show differences in the recycling behaviuor of the two samples. Environmental value is found to be a significant predictor for recycling behaviour in both urban areas but with greater effect in Kuala Lumpur as compared to Kota Kinabalu. The study should facilitate the local governments in overcoming urban waste management problem.
