Abstract
The study of the compaction of an asphalt mix is difficult due to the high number of variables and the non-linear nature of the relationships among them. This research was supported by an experiment in which, in addition to the survey of many environmental variables, a device for measuring electrical impedance has recorded the hot mix asphalt density during execution. Subsequently, the application of a clustering technique has allowed us to classify the most important variables in the definition of the phenomenon.
