Abstract

Enrolment statistics in Malaysian universities shows there are more female students at undergraduates level as compared to male, however the figures drop at postgraduate level. Hence, there is a need to encouraged participation of female students at this level. This study aimed to explore the intentions and expectations of female students pursuing doctoral studies in engineering at one university in Malaysia. This exploration is vital since the findings would add towards the development of doctoral programmes in the university specifically in providing teaching and learning facilities which fulfil the intentions and expectations of female students in the engineering faculties.
