Abstract
At present hardly anybody can do without the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). They have undoubtedly penetrated in all spheres of human life. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to discuss to what extent and in what ways ICT have altered traditional teaching practices. This will be done by examining both positive and negative outcomes of ICT exploitation in teaching and learning. After that, their main benefits to effective learning envi ronments will be listed and described. Finally, both teacher's and student's opinions and experience on teaching practices will be used to support the statements about the exploitation of ICT in a learning process.
