Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the adaptability of Academic Optimism Scales for School and Teacher Forms(AOS), which was developed by Hoy, et al. (2006–2009), to Turkish language. The study was conducted with three different participant groups in the academic years of 2009–2011. The results showed that test-retest reliability coefficients are high and internal consistency coefficients are low for Turkish versions of AOS Forms. Confirmatory factor analyses indicated that theoretical structure is not sufficient in explaining the covariances among the items. Exploratory factor analyses revealed that a patternmatched theoretical structure cannot be obtained.
