Abstract

This study investigated Iranian high-school students’ attitude towards their EFL textbooks and its role in their attitude towards learning English as a foreign language. Two-hundred and forty-four students participated in the study. They filled in the Student English Book Evaluation Scale and the attitude toward foreign language learning questionnaire. The results revealed that Iranian students roughly evaluated their English textbooks as valuable learning resources; however they had positive attitude towards learning English as a foreign language. Both variables were found to be positively related and attitude towards EFL textbooks was a predictor of attitude towards learning English.
