Abstract
The present study aims to explore the beliefs of 120 preschool and primary school teachers, placing emphasis on the importance of research on daily classroom practice as a tool for their professional development. In order to examine the extent on which the need to link research to professional development and empowerment has matured in teachers’ mind, a questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument. The results revealed teachers’ positive attitudes regarding the use of research in promoting their professional development and raising their professional status.
