Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the attitudes of primary school second level students towards the lesson of Turkish Language. The research population is consisted of 188 6th, 7th and 8th grade students attending 3, randomly selected primary schools in the province of Erzurum. As a measuring tool, “Turkish Language Lesson Attitude Scale”, prepared by Kara (2010) was used. For the data gathered by the survey, frequency measurements were made in SPSS 10 data processing program and the values are reflected in tables. As a result of the lesson, it was concluded that the students attended Turkish Language lessons willingly and pleasantly; however, they did not want to be educated in a department related to Turkish Language in the future; and the reason was that they saw Turkish Language lessons as a period of time in which they can have a good time at school.
