Abstract

Studies about marital satisfaction have a long history but we still don’t have a solution to assure marital success, and the proof is the high rate of divorces, in our days. In this incipient study, we assume that low self-esteem, unhappy partners and difficult negotiations in couple, influences the perception of marital satisfaction, regardless of relationship duration. The conclusions was that satisfaction or dissatisfaction does not depend on years spent in a marital relationship, that other elements like good self-esteem, ability to communicate in a couple, could help building and maintain a fulfilling marital life.
