Abstract
The first-year students’ attitudes related to teaching are necessary teleological landmarks for choosing this career. This study has two objectives: 1. To develop a conceptual model for understanding, investigate and training the prospective teachers’ attitude; 2. To develop a valid scale in order to measure students’ attitude concerning teaching career. The SATC scale (Students’ Attitudes Related to Teaching Career) contains 21 items in three hypothetical constructs. The scale was administered to 1500 prospective teachers. It was found good internal consistency reliability for total scale and for sub-scales. The scale and the three factors were validated by factorial analysis method.
