Abstract

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is an action oriented psychotherapy which encompasses cognitive, behaviour and emotive techniques. This therapy helps to change cognitive processes, beliefs and behaviour and it is widely used to treat various kinds of psychological problems such as personality and mood disorders and also panic attack. The counselling process was started with cognitive techniques and was followed by behavioral techniques such as relaxation breathing technique and systematic desensitization. The patient found that she had learned cognitive and behavioural techniques to manage her ‘panic attack’ and reported some positive changes in her real life situation.
