Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of the Five Step Learning Strategy (FSLS) on academic success. In this context, the hypothesis of “FSLS may make a significant contribution to academic success” was tested. In this study, the “pre-test, post test, with control group” experiment model was used. The sample universe of the study is comprised of the 123 students (Experiment group: 62, Control group: 61) taking the subject Learning Technologies and Material Development in Gazi University, Faculty of Commerce and Tourism Education, Summer School. The research data was collected through a review of the literature and an achievement test which was applied as a pre-test and post test; as a result of the analysis of the data, it was observed that FSLS based education made a significant contribution to academic success.
