Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the schematic structure of story texts as a visual strategy on comprehension. 99 primary school students who are designated as experimental group and control group participated in the study. Pre-test post-test control group experimental design is used in the study. No difference among experiment group 1, experiment group 2 and the control group was observed in the pre-test. Contrary to this result, a meaningful difference in favor of the experiment groups was observed between the achievement levels of the experiment group 1 and experiment group 2 and the control group. This shows the positive contribution of the strategy used in the listening process.
