Abstract
In this paper we study the existence of global self-similar solutions of nonlinear beam equations with nonlinear terms |u|α−1u|u|α−1u. By using a scaling technique and the Banach fixed point theorem, we first establish a general existence result. By using this general result to a special class of initial data we obtain the existence of global self-similar solutions.
