Abstract
We study the collision probability for a balls-and-bins problem, developed by Wendl [Wendl, M., 2003. Collision probability between sets of random variables. Statistics & Probability Letters 64, 249-254] using the method of enumerating surjections. We give the exact distribution for the number of collisions and the expectation which has a simple expression.
