Reforma desde el sur, revolución desde el norte El Primer Congreso Internacional de Estudiantes de 1921

In September-October, 1921, the First International Student Congress was held in Mexico City. For the very first time, student organizations from around the world came together in the wake of a great war that had greatly weakened the old European empires and of the first Socialist revolution, while in the Americas, the march against oligarchy had already achieved two victories. Mexico had concluded the open military battles of its social revolution and consolidation was beginning, and the 1918 University Reform of Cordoba, Argentina, had created a change in Latin American university structures. However, despite the fact that this student congress is the most important one in the 20th century, it has been largely overlooked by researchers and has even been forgotten by its own protagonists. This article seeks to resolve those historical paradoxes.
