Abstract
ⶠGas-phase Fâ ions react readily with Ge(OEt)4 to yield the hypervalent FGe(OEt)4â. ⶠFGe(OEt)4â undergoes facile IRMPD through three different channels. ⶠSequential IRMPD processes are observed for the primary IRMPD products. ⶠIsomeric germanate and germyl anions can be distinguished by their proton affinity. ⶠIRMPD allows for the gas-phase synthesis of novel oxy-germanium ions.
