Abstract
⺠The volatility of trace elements during pyrolysis is correlated to their binding forms in coal. ⺠Among the hazardous elements, As is the most volatile, and Sb, Pb, Zn, Cd, and Cr are moderately volatile. ⺠Arsenic exhibits a uniquely high release at 900-1000 °C likely due to its high proportion of sulfide form. ⺠At high temperatures, a minor coal loss result in a significant volatilization of trace elements.
