Abstract

This paper focuses on the systematics of a large body of experimental corn stover pyrolysis yields measured with a Pyroprobe-FTIR system at Taiyuan University of Technology (TUT) using a wide range of heating rates, This large body of data is organized using an analytical semi-empirical model (ASEM) developed at the University of Florida that provides a reasonable account using only a small number of adjusted parameters. The data is also organized with a traditional kinetic model (Arrhenius reaction rates) and comparisons are made between the two models from the viewpoint of engineering applications of pyrolysis.
