Abstract
⺠The effect of the counterion on the elution of a polypeptide is investigated. ⺠A retention model based on the counterion binding to the peptide charges is proposed. ⺠The model is validated through two independent sets of experiments. ⺠The model developed can be used for preparative process optimization.
