► Chromatographic refolding of proteins assisted by chaperones immobilized on cellulose. ► Chaperones immobilized on cellulose have great operational and storage stability. ► This refolding system is a cost-efficient alternative to refold protein from IBs. ► Cellulose immobilization is efficient as and cheaper than covalent immobilization.
