Abstract
Neurons may generate amyloid-β peptide (Aβ) together with nitric oxide to protect itself when neurons subjected Cu(II) toxicity and oxidative stress. Aβ can bind to Cu(II) and act as a sacrificial antioxidant and get nitrated. Nitration of Aβ can prevent itself from further aggregation induced by Cu(II).111
