Abstract
⺠The present article introduces a newly designed bisporphyrin molecule, 1. ⺠For the first time, fullerene-bisporphyrin CT phenomenon is studied in solution. ⺠1 The molecules do not serve as effective molecular tweezers for fullerene in solution. ⺠Evidence in favor of the formation of fullereneâ and bisporphyrin+ species is presented. ⺠Binding of fullerenes with 1 is clearly demonstrated by MMMF calculations.
