Abstract
We review the state of the art in atmospheric passive sampling for semi-volatile organic compounds. After a brief section on principles and theory, we focus on calibration approaches using different passive samplers. We report a selected number of applications for some passive samplers and identify some key issues to improve the performance and the accuracy of passive samplers. We then suggest and discuss possible developments.
► Passive air sampling of SVOCs is reviewed. ► We explain theory and principles of operation. ► Different calibration approaches are discussed. ► Some passive samplers are presented.
