Abstract
⺠The 3-sulfates of glutathione conjugated bile acids (BA-GSH) were synthesized. ⺠The properties of the BA-GSH 3-sulfates were characterized by negative-ion ESI-MS/MS. ⺠The sulfation of BA-GSH was determined by monitoring characteristic transition ions. ⺠A little sulfation of the BA-GSH occurred at C-3 in a rat liver cytosolic fraction. ⺠Sulfation was proportional to the hydrophobicity of the unconjugated bile acids.
