Abstract
Some new metal(II) complexes, ML2[M = Co, Ni, Cu and Zn], of 2-acetylthiophene benzoylhydrazone ligand (HL) containing a trifunctional SNO-donor system have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of physicochemical data by elemental analysis, magnetic moment, molar conductance, thermogravimetric and spectroscopic (electronic, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR) data. The ligand functions as monobasic SNO tridentates where the deprotonated enolic form is preferred in the coordination producing distorted octahedral complexes.
