Abstract
CdS nanocrystalline thin films were deposited onto glass substrates by chemical bath deposition (CBD). The films deposited at 80 °C for 6 h with two different concentrations of thiourea. The deposition parameters were optimized. The obtained films were characterized for structural and optical properties, X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the films were nanocrystalline in nature with cubic structures. A blue shift in the band gap was observed in the UV–visible absorption spectra indicating the formation of nano particles of sizes between 3.826 and 8 nm.
