Abstract
Precursor was prepared by alcohol-aqueous heating from ZrOCl2 as the starting material, and nanosized tetragonal ZrO2 powder doped with 2% Y2O3 and 5.5% CeO2 in mole was synthesized using hydrothermal method. The influences of solution concentration, boiling time and hydrothermal time on the crystalline type and morphology of ZrO2 were studied by XRD, FTIR, and TEM. The results indicated that Y2O3-CeO2-ZrO2 powder, which had particle size about 10 nm and distributed narrowly and dispersed well, could be obtained under given process and conditions i.e., concentration of the ZrOCI2 · 8H2O solution was 0.2 mol · L−1, the ratio of alcohol and aqueous in volume was 5:1, the heating temperature was 75 °C and the hydrothermal time was about 6 h.
