Abstract

In the current study, we synthesized an Al-doped TiO2 nanoceramic material using a chemical and solid-state diffusion routes, and the LPG sensing performance of this material was comparatively studied. The structural conformation of the as-synthesized nanoparticles was investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, and the morphology was analysed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The optical absorption spectrum of the as-synthesized nanoparticles was recorded by ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy. Thermal study of the samples was performed via thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Based on a comparison of both samples, the chemically synthesized Al-doped TiO2 nanoparticle exhibited good sensor performance for LPG. The material synthesized by the chemical route exhibited good sensing properties.
