Abstract
The alkylation of N-hydroxyphthalimide with alkyl halides in the presence of potassium carbonate results N-alkoxyphthalimides in 64–99% yields in DMSO under ultrasound irradiation. Compared with conventional methods, the main advantages of the present procedure are milder conditions, shorter reaction time and higher yields.
