Abstract

•Pressure-assisted low temperature sintering of Niscon-structured Li-ion conductor•Utilization of waste of melt-quenched glassy LAGP•High ionic conductivity with stable behaviors in cathodic and anodic electrolytes

A low temperature hot pressing was used to consolidate Li1.5Al0.5Ge1.5(PO4)3 (LAGP) glassy powder that was fabricated through melt-quench. To fully utilize the special behavior of glass transition of amorphous-structured LAGP, low temperature hot pressing was carried between the glass transition and crystallization temperature. Densified and partially crystallized pellets were obtained after hot pressing and further crystallized at a higher temperature. Ionic conductivity of the final pellet is measured to be 1.64 × 10− 4 S cm− 1 with activation energy of 0.2994 eV.
