Abstract
This review describes the state of the art in the field of polyoxometalates containing noble metal atoms (ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, silver, osmium, iridium, platinum and gold). The structures of the various species are listed together with their applications (mainly in catalysis).
Research highlights► This review describes the preparations and structures of noble metal containing polyoxometalates. ► Compounds with gold, rhodium, osmium, iridium, platinum, palladium, and ruthenium are listed. ► Their applications in catalysis are emphasized. ► The 1D, 2D and 3D structures of silver containing polyoxometalates are reviewed.
