Abstract
Different types of 11-13-vertex metallacarboranes of platinum metals with unsaturated Ï-hydrocarbon ligands derived from mono- and polycyclic diolefins are reviewed. The purpose is to provide an overview of significant findings and trends in the synthetic and structural chemistry of these compounds. Some basic information on their catalytic and unique chemical properties, including the results on fluxional behavior and transformations of agostic (C-Hâ¯M) metallacarboranes in solution, are also discussed.
