Abstract
⺠We report an unexpected reaction of 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde on Mo(IV) centre. ⺠The formation of coordinated 1,2-bis(2-pyridyl)ethene-1,2-diol is described. ⺠The X-ray single crystal structure and physicochemical features of novel binuclear complex of Mo(IV) is presented. ⺠The IR, NMR, UV-VIS spectra and cyclic voltammetry measurements are discussed and compared with other Mo(IV) complexes.
