Abstract

Three low dimensional Na–Ni complexes based on simple Ni Schiff-base complex [Ni(sy-L1)]2·H2O (1) known as “ligand complex” (bis(acetylacetone)ethylenediamine = H2acacen or sy-H2L1), namely, zero dimensional [Ni(sy-L1)Na(NO3)]2}n (2), one dimensional [Ni(sy-L1)]2Na(ClO4) (3) and one dimensional {[Ni(sy-L1)]2]Na(ClO4)}n (4), have been easily and efficiently synthesized through conversion strategies with good yields and more environmentally friendly reaction conditions, in which compounds 3 and 4 represent the first 1-D Na–Ni heteronuclear complexes based on symmetric acacen-base Schiff base ligand.

Furthermore, the scavenging activities of compounds 1–4 on the DPPH is more effective than that of the ligand H2acacen.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slideHighlights► Three low dimensional Na–Ni complexes 1–3 were easily and efficiently synthesized. ► 3 and 4 are the first 1-D Na–Ni complexes based on H2acacen-base Schiff base ligand. ►The scavenging activities of 1–4 on the DPPH is more effective than that of H2acacen.
